Ricochett, Play Anywhere: Dubai

Playing is not just about the game—it’s about the adventure, the boldness, and the fearlessness to take the sport anywhere. That’s why we’re excited to kick off  Ricochett's Play Anywhere series, where we’ll highlight the most extraordinary courts and surfaces around the world.

And where better to start than with an iconic image—one that defines the very essence of our ethos? A group of passionate players stepping onto the world’s highest tennis court, set atop one of the tallest buildings in the world, the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

New Heights

This breathtaking image takes us to the Burj Al Arab. Dubai’s towering luxury hotel that has long captured the world’s imagination. Standing at 1,053 feet (322 meters) tall, it’s known as one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city. But beyond its dazzling exterior, the Burj Al Arab is also home to a unique feature—a green rooftop tennis court.

Back in 2005, the hotel’s rooftop was transformed into what would be the highest tennis court in the world. Set against a sky-high backdrop of towering skyscrapers, vast deserts, and the glistening waters of the Persian Gulf, this court is truly one-of-a-kind. The court itself, a symbol of luxury and adventure, features a grass surface and stunning panoramic views, giving players a sense of playing at the pinnacle of both sport and architectural brilliance.

But the question is: Why? Why play tennis in such an unlikely place? Originally, the court was designed for the renowned tennis exhibition match between two tennis legends—Andre Agassi and Roger Federer. This iconic event marked the first time these two greats played on this exclusive court, adding another layer of history to the Burj Al Arab’s rich legacy. For Agassi and Federer, playing at such a high altitude was about testing the limits of what’s possible. It was about turning the game into an experience that merges sport and culture.

The game was a spectacular display of skill and sportsmanship, but it was also a celebration of where tennis can be played, and the possibilities of pushing the boundaries of traditional sporting venues.

Where Will Your Next Court Be?

Just as Agassi and Federer, Ricochet Racket Club invites players everywhere to embrace that same boldness.
